When you say the word acne, most people conjure up a picture in their mind of acne on the face or neck and all the acne horrors associated with being a teenager. But in reality, many adults are also plagued by body acne. The condition targets the chest, back and backside of teenagers and adults alike. Blemishes and cysts on the body share many of the same causes as facial acne. Fluctuating hormones are common culprits as well as dietary habits.

Much so-called athletic clothing simply does not breathe. Sweating gets trapped against the skin, mixing with surface oils. The result is clogged pores which cause breakouts. But, body acne is only too frequently occuring as well, producing further permanent blemishes and possible scarring, not to mention a good deal of discomfort and embarrassment.
